Dawson's Creek

One of my favorite tv shows is DAWSON’S CREEK, set in the fictional city of Capeside (that would be in the real state of Massachusetts). Although you can say it’s a drama series, there are touches of romance and comedy. It’s about a group of teenage friends and how their lives change through 6 years.

Dawson (James Van Der Beek) loves movies and wants to be a film maker. He is a good boy, very honest and polite. He has known Joey (Katie Holmes) since they were little kids, and they are best friends. Joey has a tough life because her dad is in jail and her mother died. She works a lot in the family’s bar with her sister, who is pregnant now, and her husband. Joey also studies hard because her dream is to study in an excellent college, but she would need a scholarship. Pacey (Joshua Jackson) is also Dawson’s best friend, but Joey doesn’t like him very much. He is the funny guy of the group, always making jokes and saying something sarcastic.

When the summer was almost finished, a girl arrived in town and pretty much changed everything. Her name is Jennifer (Michelle Williams) and she used to live in New York, but her parents sent her to live with her grandma in Capeside.

During the six years, more characters come and go, like the intelligent but problematic Andie McPhee and her brother Jack, the “rebel without cause” Abby, the talkative and fun Audrey, the “Don Juan” Charlie, the smart Eddie, the charming Professor Wilder, the bossy but nice Todd, the pretty Natasha and many more.

It’s interesting to see how the main characters change while time goes by. You can feel a bit of their happiness, their sadness, their struggle. It’s not unusual to get anxious with Dawson and Joey’s indecision in the first season, to get touched with Pacey and Andie’s relationship in the second, angry with Dawson’s childish attitude in the third and sad about Jen and Jack’s argument in the fourth. To sum up, it’s almost impossible not to get involved and much probable to get addicted to the life of these six friends, because it could be your own life.

I think that the most amazing thing about Dawson’s creek is that it can be at the same time fun and touching. The dialogues are smart and the story, as I said, very involving. It’s really not a silly series, it makes you think about people, friendship, big losts and life in general: how it’s such a fragile thing and how it can change without our will or perception.

Hi, as you know my name is Marcelle and I'm sixteen years old. I study at abel and this year is being stressing a lot because of vestibular, I stay at school from 7:00 am to 6:10 pm at mondays, wednesdays and fridays ans I must confess that it's boring. In my free times I go to the english and draw course and also to the gym. I want to be an arquitet because I think that is really coll to project buildings, houses and to see it becoming real. I love going out with my friends and every place become cool with them. I like going to the cinema, beach, restaurants and parties. One of the things that I hate most is people that just care about themselves.
This is enough!

Kisses, Marcelle.
Hi!
I'm going to tell you a little bit about my life.
I was born in Rio, sixteen year ago. I spent all my childhood there and when I was eleven my family decided to move to Niterói. We decided to do this because here in Niterói we could have a better quality of life. Well, nowadays I live in Icaraí, and I study at abel in the last year of school. This year have been so hard because I have to study a lot and pass so many times at school, including the saturdays. But with so many things to do I still find time to relax a little bit and have some fun. I hope that everything is gonna be allright, and I pass in vestibular.
That's all.
Bye!
